BRENT HUTCHIESON
Twenty-five years ago, at the young age of 24, Landscape Gardeners began as a passion project — transforming small gardens and maintaining lawns across Waiheke Island. But it was during surf expeditions abroad, exploring the lush, resort-style landscapes of some of the world's most beautiful destinations, that something clicked. I came home inspired, and with a vision that Waiheke's homeowners deserved that same sense of escape — right in their own backyard.
I noticed a gap on the island. There were plenty of people mowing lawns, but very few creating truly designed, considered outdoor spaces. So I began designing landscapes for my clients that brought that resort feeling home — seamless indoor-outdoor flow, a deep connection to nature, and spaces that were built to last and beautiful to live in.
Those surf expeditions were part of a lifelong pursuit of excellence. Winning the New Zealand surf title at just 18 years old taught me early that with passion, hard work, and a refusal to settle, you can achieve something truly special. That same drive is what I've poured into LSG every day since.
Twenty-five years on, LSG has grown into Waiheke's largest landscaping company. But the vision hasn't changed — to create outdoor spaces that inspire, endure, and feel like a little piece of paradise.

    Brent Hutchieson

    FOUNDER & DIRECTOR

    Brent founded Landscape Gardeners in 2001 with one goal: to create Waiheke's best landscapes and gardens — spaces that are built to last. More than two decades on, Brent is now more hands-on in the design and execution of LSG's landscaping projects, bringing his experience and eye for detail to every build. His passion for craftsmanship, quality, and the island he calls home remains at the heart of the business.

    Ramiro Cuevas

    DIRECTOR / MANAGER

    Ramiro has been at the heart of Landscape Gardeners for over 8 years, growing from an experienced landscaper into a director of the business. He leads and manages LSG's teams with a hands-on approach and a deep understanding of what it takes to deliver exceptional results on Waiheke Island. His experience, leadership, and commitment to quality are at the core of everything LSG does.

    NIna Saints

    LANDSCAPE DESIGNER

    Nina brings a rare combination of creative design sensibility and deep horticultural knowledge to LSG. As an artist at heart, she treats every landscape as a canvas, where colour, texture, and form come together with both beauty and purpose. Her expertise spans landscape design, indoor and outdoor plants, and garden aesthetics. Nina is also director of The Living Isle, a specialist indoor plant installation business.

    Tyler Neuman

    GARDEN MAINTENANCE MANAGER

    Tyler brings an exceptional eye for detail to his role leading LSG's garden maintenance team. Whether it's sculpting lomandras to perfection, precision hedge trimming, or the ongoing care of Waiheke's finest properties, Tyler holds his team to the highest standards. His passion for pristine gardens is evident in every property he touches.

    Alejandro Diaz

    LANDSCAPING MANAGER

    Alejandro is a dedicated and thorough Landscape Manager who leads his team with precision and pride. With a strong work ethic and a commitment to delivering consistently high standards, Alejandro ensures every project his team undertakes is completed to the level of quality LSG is known for across Waiheke Island.
